North Little Rock sits on the north bank of the Arkansas River directly across from the state capital, sharing cycling infrastructure with Little Rock across multiple river crossings.

The Arkansas River Trail (ART) runs through North Little Rock with access points at Cook's Landing, Burns Park Soccer Complex, Dog Park, Golf Course, Boat Ramp, and Riverfront Park. The full 88-mile loop extends through Little Rock, North Little Rock, Maumelle, and Conway — anchored by the Big Dam Bridge (North America's longest bridge built specifically for cyclists) and the Clinton Presidential Bridge.

Burns Park note: Following the March 29, 2023 tornado, only the Arkansas River Trail section is currently open in Burns Park. Mountain bike trails within the park are in various stages of recovery — check the City of North Little Rock Parks & Recreation for current trail status. The river trail access remains fully active.

Major employers including Baptist Health and Arkansas State Hospital are within e-bike range of NLR's riverside residential areas. The Argenta Arts District creates recreational destination demand just off the riverfront.
