The M2 Max adds an adjustable air shock rear suspension and upgrades to 180mm dual hydraulic disc brakes. If you ride technical terrain — forest singletrack, rocky trails, steep descents in wet weather — the Max is worth the premium. For road commuting and light gravel, the Pro is sufficient.

Hydraulic disc brakes on the M2 Max use sealed fluid-filled lines that maintain consistent pressure regardless of water, mud, or temperature. In wet conditions, hydraulic brakes outperform mechanical disc brakes significantly — the difference is most noticeable on steep descents where modulation matters most.

With 110Nm of torque from the 1800W brushless motor, the M2 Max handles gradients up to 30 degrees in pedal-assist mode. Real-world steep climbs of 15-20 degrees are handled comfortably at assist level 4 or 5 without requiring pedalling effort.
