The BK520 companion app connects via Bluetooth and provides route tracking with GPS mapping, real-time battery monitoring, speed recording (current, maximum, and average), and remote electronic lock activation. The lock feature prevents the motor from engaging remotely — useful for quick stops where you cannot lock the physical frame.

The BK520 uses a 48V 5.2Ah battery (249.6Wh). In pure pedal-assist mode at level 2-3, 35 miles is achievable. In throttle-heavy use on hills, expect 18-22 miles. For most urban commutes under 15 miles round-trip, the BK520 charges fully overnight and covers the commute without mid-day charging.

The BK520 weighs 55 lbs. That is manageable for most adults to carry up one or two flights of stairs but heavy for regular multi-floor use. The triangular high-carbon steel frame is compact. The battery removes separately, reducing the carry weight to approximately 46 lbs.
